Doris Mae Spence Pinion, 91, of Washburn St. died Sunday March 31, 2013 at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church where she was a member, with the Rev. Lewis Johns and Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at Piedmont Funeral Home. Doris was born in Forsyth County on May 9,1921 to the late Frank Lyle Spence and Fanny Mae Stancill Spence. She was a retired employee of Winn Dixie after 25 years of service and also from the Lexington City Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin “Pete” Caswell Pinion, son, Richard F. Pinion, brother, the Rev. Charles M. Spence and a sister Sue Faylen. She was also a former member of Second Presbyterian Church. Surviving are, grandson, Michael Pinion ( Sandra) of Linwood, granddaughter, Debra Motley of Lexington, great- grandchildren, Chadd Pinion, Brandon Williams, and Christian Pinion; and great- great grandchildren, Jasmine, Nyla and Lacey. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington,NC 27292 or to Coggins Memorial Baptist Church Youth Ministry,1306 S. Main St., Lexington,NC 27292.
