HEADING: Doris Prevette Koonts Doris Prevette Koonts 76 of West Old Highway 64 died peacefully on Thanksgiving Day surrounded by her family after an illness of one year. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 26,2011 at Meadowview Reformed Presbyterian Church where she was a member with the Rev. Chris Bitterman, the Rev. Francis Smith and Dr. Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Mrs. Koonts was born December 23, 1934 in Davidson County to the late Simon and Edna Leonard Prevette. She was a charter member and Sunday School teacher for 50 years of Meadowview Presbyterian Church. She helped organize Sunset Beach Community Church and was a strong supporter and member of the National Rifle Association. Surviving are; husband of 60 years Troy Lee Koonts of the home, daughters; Kitty Lanier and husband Ricky, Troi Ann Michael and husband Mark, Sarah Floyd and husband Scott all of Lexington, grandchildren; Annette Kruse and husband Brian, Lee Lanier and wife Stephanie, Christina Copley, Casey Copley, Chase Copley and Zach Michael all of Lexington; great grandchildren; Kendall Kruse, Kaden Kruse, Nathan Lanier and Makayla Lanier all of Lexington and several nieces and nephews. Sister; Lorene Llenza of Lexington,Brother; Len Prevette and wife Kaye of Lexington.
