Donald Odell Leonard

Mr. Donald Odell Leonard, 88, of Pine Knoll Place, Greensboro, formerly of Lexington died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Moses Cone Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday February 6, 2018 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Brian Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Center Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to the service at the Funeral Home.Mr. Leonard was born in Davidson County on April 24, 1929 to the late Odell Manco Leonard and Essie Hedrick Leonard. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army. He was retired from Miller Brewery. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He loved his canine companion Lucy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Knighton Leonard and a son, Donald Wayne Leonard.Surviving are son, Michael Ray Leonard and wife Kathy of Greensboro, daughter, Brenda Kay Leonard Mull and husband Gary of Jacksonville, Fla., six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
