Donald Ray Brown

Mr. Donald Ray Brown, 83, of Penry Street died Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House.  A funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Jimmy Truell. Burial will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home and other times at the home of the daughter, Donna Walser on John Young Road.  Mr. Brown was born in Davidson County on September 29, 1934 to the late Clarence Ray and Fannie Louise Misenheimer Brown. A member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, he retired from Lexington Home Brands. Preceding him in death were his wife, Thelma Myers Brown, and sisters Mary Elizabeth Brown and Barbara Gail Melton.   Surviving are daughter Donna Walser (Terry Moorefield), and son Jackie “Butch” Key (Linda) all of Lexington; grandchildren Justin Key, Nathan Key, Seth Walser,Josh Walser, and Anna Lashmit; and great-grandchildren Kobe Key, Elizabeth Key, Liam Key, Lexi Key, and Paisley Lashmit.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC  27292.
