Mrs. Dessie Combs Tysinger, 87, of Snider Road, Lexington, died Sunday at her home after an illness of two years. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 9 at the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jeff York officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Tysinger was born January 1, 1921 in Granville County to Ed Combs and Hattie Holbrook Combs. She retired from Heckman Furniture and was of the Baptist Faith. Her husband, Joseph Clayton Tysinger, preceded her in death as well as her son, Arthur Tysinger; her daughters, Christine Hege, and Linda Westbrook; her brothers, Clewie Combs, Clallan Combs and Jess (Willard) Combs; and her sisters, Lessie Moody, Tessie Moody, Effie Holbrook, and Edy Combs. She is survived by her sons, Cecil Tysinger, and wife, Mitzi, Allen Tysinger, and wife, Kathy, and Niles Tysinger, and wife, Carolyn, all of Lexington; her brother, Fonza Combs and wife, Mary, of Apex; her sister, Emma Tysinger, and husband, Don, of Lexington; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home.
