Della Irene Smith

Della Irene Smith, 93 of Brian Nursing and Care Facility, formerly of Swing Dairy Road, died November 7, 2010. Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with the Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Mrs. Smith was born June 8, 1917 in Wilkes County, NC to the late Charles Spurgeon Walker and Sophronia Irene Dockery Walker. Her husband Clarence Smith died May 17, 1996. Also preceding her in death were two sons, Grady Smith and Melvin Smith, nine brothers and two sisters. She was a Homemaker and was a member of Hope Baptist Tabernacle in Mocksville where she sang in the Choir. She enjoyed cooking for the family and friends. Mrs. Smith is survived by eight sons, Frank Smith of Troy, Carl Smith, Donald Smith and his wife, Carolyn, Sherrill Smith and his wife Nancy all of Advance.; Richard Smith, Monroe Smith and his wife Clare, and Marvin Smith and his wife Lauren all of Lexington, and Manard Smith and his wife, Sherry of Winston-Salem; two daughters Ionia Dorsey and her husband Robert , and Frances Smith both of Lexington. She is also survived by 23 Grandchildren and 35 Great-Grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of American, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton NH 03086-0907.
