Danny Ray Bates

Danny Ray Bates, 65, of Hammond Road died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House. A graveside service will be Thursday at 2:00 PM at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel conducted by Preacher Clyde Akers. There will be no public visitation. Mr. Bates was born in New Mexico November 2, 1951 to Thomas Julian and Frances Smith Bates. He was of the Baptist faith, and retired from Lexington Barbecue. He was preceded in death by his father in 2012, a brother, Gary Wayne Bates, and a very special nephew, Bradley Smith. Surviving are his mother, Frances Smith Bates of the home, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Tony Miller, and to Hospice of Davidson County for the love and care shown to Danny and his family.
