Daniel Clarence Boone, 87, of Thompson Street, Tyro Community, died Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Novant Health-Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. A crypt side service will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM in Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by Rev. Randy Foster and Rev. Max Shoaf, with military honors rendered by the US Army and The Davidson County Honor Guard. There will be no public visitation, however the family will receive friends at the home. Mr. Boone was born in Alamance County June 5, 1929 to Will Henery and Emma Snider Boone. He retired from the maintenance department of Lexington Furniture Industries in Linwood and was a US Army Veteran, serving as a Corporal in the US Army Artillery 7th Army 452nd Battery in Germany and Austria. A very self-less man, loving grandpa and great-grandpa, his great-grands were the light of his life. He was also member of Tyro United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents ; one great-grandchild Jade; and brothers Robert, Willie, Raymond, and Arthur Lee. Surviving are his wife, Lucy Boone of the home; daughters Robin Correll (Johnny) and Julie Boone Welch all of Lexington; granddaughter Shannon Justice (fiance’ Adam Shipton); step-grandsons, Mark Correll and Benji Correll of Gold Hill; and great-grandchildren Cole, Abby, Emma, and Grace.
