Mr. William Henry Clay Lawson, Jr., 70, of South Hargrave St. died Thursday, November 2, 2017 at The NC Veteran’s Home in Salisbury, NC.   A funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Benny Clodfelter. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at the VA National Cemetery, Brenner Ave. in Salisbury, NC. With full military honors. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.   Mr. Lawson was born in Davidson County November 24, 1946 to the late William Henry Clay Lawson, Sr. and Nellie Grey Lawson. A US Navy Veteran, he was of the Methodist faith, a member of the VFW, and a former member of The West Lexington Volunteer Fire Department. He was predeceased by brothers Dan and Martin Dale Lawson, and sisters Ann Smith and June Leonard.   Surviving are his wife of 38 years Oveta “Sally” MacDonald Lawson of the home; son Marty Ray Lawson (Heather) of High Point; step-sons Teddy and Gregory McCoy of Lexington, and Vince McCoy of Mississippi; step-daughters Michelle Sorrell (Jonathan) of Silver Valley, Tina Lackey (Kenneth Keller) of South Carolina, and Rita Perdue (Tommy) of Welcome; brother Kirk Lawson of Advance; grandchildren John Daniel Lawson and Norah Lawson; ten step-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren; and his former wife Sheila Walker.   Memorials may be made to Open Hands, PO Box 409, Lexington, NC 27293, or to Feast Fourteen, c/o Tyro United Methodist Church, 4484 S.
