Clatie Belle Trantham Sink, 92, a resident of Charlotte, formerly of Jefferson Street, Lexington died Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 5:30 PM in Liberty Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Charlotte. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bea Edwards Copeland officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Sink was born in Davidson County on December 21, 1914 to the late Joe Edward and Lilla Mae Wrenn Trantham. She was a homemaker and a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, where she was a former member of the Willing Workers Bible Class, and the Harmony Girls Quartet. She was a former member of the 55 & Over Club in Welcome, and the Linwood Extension Home Club. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were, her husband, Woodrow Simon Sink, and a daughter, Joan Shoaf. Surviving are a son, Don Sink of Pineville, NC; a brother, Bill Trantham and his wife, Pansy of Welcome. Also surviving are grandchildren, Woody Shoaf, Donnie Sink and Donna Laughlin, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM Sunday at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at their respective homes.
