Clarence Cleveland Morris, age 75 of Linwood Southmont Road, passed away Monday afternoon at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, after several years of declining health. Clarence was born September 25, 1934 in Montgomery County to William Randall and Sarah Katherine Hogan Morris. He was retired from PPG Industries, and of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, a son William Eugene Morris preceded him in death. Funeral service will be held 2 pm Thursday October 22, in Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev David Davis officiating, with burial to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Clarence is survived by his wife Meril Towery Morris of the home; one son Mickey Morris and wife Nancy of Lexington; a daughter Cynthia Morris Henderson of Lexington. Four grandchildren, Tammy Morris Sheffer, Robert Jason Morris, Randall Cleveland Morris, and Debra Davis King all of Lexington, eight great-grandchildren ; two brothers James Morris of Lexington, and Bobby Lee Morris of Salisbury, and one sister Mary Ellen Peacock of Lexington. Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30pm Thursday prior to the funeral.
