Christine Mcdade

Christine Watson McDade, age 83, a resident of Lakeview Church Road, Linwood, NC died Friday, January 1, 2010 in Lexington Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 4, 2010 at Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Lori Anne Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. McDade was born December 25, 1926 in Davidson County to Leslie Zemp “LZ” Watson and Matlean Moore Watson. She was a homemaker, and a member of Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Burke McDade, Sr., February 5, 2005; a son, Walter Burke McDade, Jr; a daughter, Theresa Potts; two brothers, LZ “Buck” Watson, Tommy Watson; and a sister, Priscilla Moody. Surviving are two sons, Greg McDade and wife, Melodie of Lexington, Michael McDade of Cary; a daughter, Gloria Ford and husband, Steve of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Renee McDade; grandchildren, Erica Tilley and Shawna Potts, whom she raised; Tina Orrell, Ashley Schmidt, Brittany Loy, Patrick McDade, Adam McDade, Burke McDade, and Claire McDade; great grandchildren, Christopher Holder; Austin, Conner, Addison, and Holden Schmidt, Jeffrey Loy, and Jonah Tilley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday at PIEDMONT FUNERAL HOME and other times at the home.
