Charlie Dotson

Charlie Dotson, 90, of Old Highway 64 West died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at his home. A funeral service will be Monday at 2:00 PM at Lexington Church of God, where he was a member, by the Revs. Rodney Merrill and David Hatcher. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home. Mr. Dotson was born September 27, 1924 in Mingo County, West Virginia to Roby and Rebecca Ward Dotson. He retired from Sealy Mattress Company and was a very good father, outdoorsman, and great conversationalist. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Arlene Birchfield Dotson in 2004; son, Johnny Ray Dotson; three brothers, and two sisters. Charlie is survived by sons Clifford Charles Dotson (Margie) and Everette Dotson of Lexington; daughters Diane Cantwell and Thelma Trent (David) also of Lexington; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
