Charles Andrew Tester, Sr.

Charles Andrew Tester, Sr., 65, of Branch Road died Monday, February 1, 2016 at his home. A memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Saturday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. James Byrd. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Charles was born February 24, 1950 in Avery County to Andrew Will and Julia Hicks Tester. He was a retired carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are sons Charles Andrew Tester, Jr. (Susan) of Inman, SC, and Brent Alexander (Julie) of Lexington; Daughter Brenda Kay Tester (Harold) of Union, SC; grandchildren, Brooke, Trey, Whitney, and Hannah; and great-grandchildren Moriah, Adam, Jay, and Ivynn. Also surviving are brothers Bobby Tester (Vicky) of Linwood, and Larry Tester (Mary) of Galax, VA; sisters Linda Shoaf and Carolyn Everhart both of Lexington, and Judy Byrd (James) of Hendersonville; and former wife Joyce Tester of Lexington.
