Charles David Byerly, Sr.

Mr. Charles David Byerly, Sr, 73, of Lakeview Church Road died Friday, August 16, 2019 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.  A memorial  service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, August 19, 2019 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor David Wooten. The family will receive friends at the home.         Mr. Byerly was born in Rowan County April 10, 1946 to the late Boyce Coolidge and Ruth Elliot Byerly. A member of Yadkin Missionary Baptist Church, he retired from Lexington Home Brands, and was a member of The Spencer Moose Lodge. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles David “Chuckie” Byerly, Jr.; brother James Samuel Byerly; and sister Ruth Marie Byerly.   Surviving are his wife, Mary Novelia “Smokey” Giles Byerly of the home;and daughter Amy Marie Byerly  (Malissa Byerly) both of McAlester, OK. Also surviving are many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws; and his faithful canine companion Emmy Lou.
