Cavelle Dorothy Lentz Lund, 82, of Lexington, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010, at the Hinkle Hospice House of Davidson County after a brief illness. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Grace Episcopal Church by the Rev. Tom King. A private family graveside service will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. She was born July 5, 1927, in Wilmington to Robert Wilson and Agnes Ellis Lentz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Lund. She grew up in Greensboro and attended Grimsley High School. After graduation in 1945 from the Women's College Commercial Program, she lived in Mobile and Dothan, Ala., where she worked for various banks. She and Bob moved back to North Carolina in 1960. Over the next 13 years they lived in Burlington, Winston-Salem, Raleigh and Mocksville before moving to Lexington in 1973. In 2005, she retired as a legal secretary from the law firm of Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge & Rice after more than 35 years of service. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid reader. Surviving are her children, daughters Jann G. Lund of Greensboro and Jill R. Lund and husband Jim Parker of Bremerton, Wash., and son Andrew S. Lund and wife Susanna, and granddaughter Abigail Lund of Salisbury. A special thanks goes to Hannah Reavis and the wonderful people of Hospice of Davidson County who cared for Cavelle over the past year.
