Mrs. Hepler, 86, of 212 Abbid Street, Lexington, went to be with Jesus on Friday, June 9, 2006, after a short illness. Born October 7, 1919, in Rowan County, she was the daughter to the late Charlie H. and Daisy M. Waller. In 1942 she married Vestal Lee Hepler who died in 1973. In 1982 she retired from Dacotah Cotton Mills. She was a long-time member of Cotton Grove United Methodist Church. Catherine is survived by her brother, Charlie H. Waller, Jr. of Lynchburg, Virginia; sister-in-law, Catherine Crook of Lexington; son, Roger Hepler and his wife, Sandra Pickett, of Lexington; daughter, Elizabeth (Lee) King of Charlotte; four grandchildren – Lea Menius of Mt. Pleasant, Allen Hepler of Lexington, Keith Pickett of Lexington, and Linda Sorochinski of Charlotte; four great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Catherine’s life will be 2:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2006 at Piedmont Funeral Home in Lexington, officiated by Rev. Ed Armfield, Jr. Interment will follow in Lexington City Cemetery The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Hospice of Davidson County, Amedisys Home Healthcare and Lexington Memorial Hospital for their loving care and compassion during Mrs. Hepler’s illness.
