Carrie Atlanta Hunt

Carrie Atlanta Hunt, 90, of Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation for Lexington, formerly of Old U.S. Highway 64 West, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Lexington Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Reeds Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Stephen Ackerman. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Ms. Hunt was born Oct. 6, 1916, in Davidson County to Arvil and Marye Ward Hunt. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded her in death by her sister, Nell Copeland. Surviving are two nephews, Lee Cox of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Joe Cox and his wife, Martha, of Creedmoor; one niece, Kathy Kinard and her husband, David, of Charleston, S.C.; several great- nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday at Piedmont Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Reeds Baptist Church, 180 Reeds Baptist Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
