Carolyn Alelia Potter, 79, of Linwood, North Carolina, peacefully passed away on April 22, 2026, surrounded by the comfort and care of hospice at her home. Born on July 31, 1946, in Linwood, she was the beloved daughter of the late Ralph Vernon Potter Sr. and Clara Inez Potter. Carolyn was born, raised, and spent her life in the community she dearly loved.
A funeral service to honor Carolyn's life will be held at Greer's Chapel, Monday, April 27, 2026, starting at 4 p.m., with a visitation an hour prior to the service, beginning at 3 p.m., same location. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
A graduate of King's College, Carolyn dedicated 27 years of faithful service to WS Tyler before retiring. She was known for her strong work ethic, kind spirit, and unwavering devotion to those around her.
Above all, Carolyn was a devoted Christian woman who honored God daily through her words, actions, and service to others. She was a faithful member of Greer's Chapel, where she served as both a choir member and lay reader. Her church family and faith were among the greatest joys of her life.
Carolyn also had a fun-loving spirit and enjoyed cheering on her favorite NASCAR drivers and faithfully supporting the Los Angeles Dodgers. She loved sharing laughter, stories, and time with those she loved most.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her older brother Ralph Vernon Potter Jr., and her infant brother, Charles Sims Potter.
Those left to cherish her memory include her brother, Robert Steve Potter (Angie); her nephews, Vernon Keith Potter (Sheila) and Michael Glenn Potter (Christy); niece, Christina Potter; and her great-niece, Kallie Potter, along with many extended family members, church friends, and loved ones whose lives were touched by her kindness and faith.
Carolyn will be remembered for her gentle heart, steadfast faith, and the love she shared so freely with everyone she met. Her legacy of compassion, devotion, and Christian service will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the caregivers of Carolyn, to Barbra Jean, Erica, Pam, Gayla, Brandi, and Tina.
