Bruce Edward Galko

Bruce Edward Galko, 63, of Fairview Drive, died Friday morning July 8, 2016 at his home. Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday July 10, 2016 at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home. Bruce was born in LaPorte, Indiana on November 19, 1952 to Walter Bruno Galko and Alyce Marie Hubner Galko. He was a graduate of LaPorte High School. He married Janie Ann Struss on November 4, 1980 and shortly afterwards they both moved to North Carolina. He began working at Burlington Furniture and later worked and retired from Lowes Mill Works. He was preceded in death by his father. He was a loving husband, father, poppa, brother and son. He was a friend to all and was known for his beautiful smile. Bruce enjoyed fishing, his GTO and spending time with those he loved most and most especially his pride and joy his loving grand babies. Surviving are his wife Janie Ann Struss Galko of the home; daughter, Abbey Marie Galko Hedrick (Jason) of Lexington; grandchildren, Mason Paul Hedrick and Gracelynn Marie Hedrick, mother, Alyce Marie Galko of Lexington;sister, Georgette Galko Harenzo (Stan) of Lexington.
