Brenda Sue Phelps

Brenda Sue Smith Phelps, 50, a resident of N. NC Highway 150,Clemmons, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 in Forsyth Medical Center. A graveside service will be 2:00 PM Sunday at the Hartland Missionary Methodist Church Cemetery in Morganton with Rev. Danny Carr officiating. Brenda was born in Caldwell County, NC on July 7, 1958 to Odell Smith and Mildred Hood Smith. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant and she was a member of Heaven’s Gate Full Gospel Church in Lexington. She was a loving wife and mother and loved all of her family and extended family. Preceding her in death was her father. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Phelps of the home, her son, Andy Joseph Smith of Morganton, her daughter, Melissa Workman and her husband, Keith of Denton, her mother, Mildred Hood Smith of Morganton. Also surviving are two sisters, Doris Conley and her husband Darrell and Hazel Carr and her husband Danny all of Morganton. The family will see friends at the home. Friends may call at Piedmont Funeral Home until 9:00 AM Sunday.
