Brenda Story Hegler

Brenda Story Hegler, 81, of Upton Street passed away Sunday at Hinkle Hospice House.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, September 4th, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Timberlake Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mason Todd officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and afterwards at the home at 101 Upton Street, Lexington.

Brenda was born in Davidson County to the late Dumas Randall Story and Mary Edith Mitchell Story. She retired from Dixie Furniture after 38 years of employment. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Isaiah Hegler III, sisters, Tanger Young, and Joyce Kirk.

Surviving are her sons, Dumas Scott Hegler and wife Roni Gay and Philip Thomas Hegler and wife Nissa of Lexington, daughter, Tina Kaye Sullivan and husband Harvey of Lexington, grandchildren, Jennifer Bevan, Dumas Scott Hegler, Jr., Samatha Harrington, Britnie Holt, Tara Corriea, Troy Curry, Logan Hegler, Kimberly Hedrick and Brittany Howard. Also surviving are 18 great-grandchildren.
