Bobby Giles

Bobby Willis Giles, 88, went to be with The Lord on Sunday, September 27,2026, after declining health, surrounded by family at the home of his daughter, Elizabeth Ray, where Mr. Giles lived for the past several years.

Bobby was the twin son to the late W.J Giles and Ruth Leonard Giles and was born on July 16,1938, in Davidson County.

During his life, Bobby graduated from Reeds High School and later worked for Coble Dairy in Lexington, where he painted trucks. Before retiring, he worked for M&L Motors of Lexington, where he worked in the body shop and worked as a wrecker driver. He retired from M&L after working there for over 30 years. In his spare time, he would work on cars at home, where he found great joy in taking parts from serveral cars or trucks, turning them into one and painting them to look new.

Bobby enjoyed going to church, sharing God's word and helping in any way he could. For the last serveral years, he enjoyed attending the Life Center in Lexington and traveling with his great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded by his infant son Bobby Willis Giles Jr., his sisters, Sarah Frances Copple and Emma Irene Giles, his twin brther, Billy Cleveland Giles and his brothers, Curtis Alfred Giles, Walter Dermont Giles and his son in law, Jim Pruitt.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Audrey Long Giles, of Clapps Nursing Home in Greensboro, his children, Sandra Pruitt of Lexington, Mark Giles (Joan) of West Columibia, SC, and Elizabeth Ray (Chris) of Lexington, step children , Johnny Long (Ann) of Asheboro, Larry Long (Mickie) of Trinity, Darrell Long (Melissa) of Archdale, and Melissa Long Ryan (John) of Randleman, five grandchildren: Robert, Christopher, Ariel, Annabel, Carter, 7 step grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 15 step great-grandchidren.

A funeral service to honer Bobby's life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, starting at 3 PM, at Piedmont Funeral Home of Lexington. A visitation will take place a hour prior, 2 PM, at the same location. Burial will follow at Sandy Creek Cemetery.
