Billy Wayne Hatcher, 65, of Carolina House of Lexington passed into his Heavenly home on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center after declining health of two years. A celebration of Billy’s life will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 1st, 2012 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Michael Bowers and Preacher Clyde Akers. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Billy was born December 12, 1946 in Davidson County to Lacy Hatcher and Ruth Lookabill Hatcher. He was retired from The Workshop of Davidson, Inc., where he was employed for 33 years. He was a member of Rick Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville, NC and enjoyed swimming, keeping score at McCarn Ballfield, singing gospel music, and was a fan of wrestling. He also enjoyed participating in Special Olympics. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Bob Sink, aunt, Mary Katherine Hatcher West and uncles, Ed,Kenneth and Albert Hatcher. surviving are, step mother, Myrtle Hatcher of Lexington, step brother, Reggie Hatcher of Lexington, uncles, Daniel Hatcher and wife Barbara of Winston Salem, Jimmy Dean lookabill, Jeff Lookabill, David Lookabill and wife Martha, aunts, Rosetta Hatcher Phillips of Lexington and Elsie Lookabill Swicegood,caregivers, Roger and Kay Curry; cousins, and a host of family and friends. Memorials may be made to the Rainbow Class, Richfork Baptist Church, 3993 Old Hwy. 29, Thomasville, NC 27360.
