Beverly Ray Dyson

Beverly Ray Kennedy Dyson, 75, of Lexington died Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center.  A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Renee’ Easter. Burial will follow in Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to illnesses, the family has requested that no visitation be held.  Mrs. Dyson was born December 6, 1942 in Rowan County to the late Carl Ray and Dorothy Mae Moore Kennedy. A homemaker, she loved gardening, crafts, and music-being the former choir director at her church, Smith Grove Baptist Church for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Duke Dyson on December 20, 2017, and a son, James David Dyson in 2009.  Surviving are son, Greg Dyson and wife Julie of Lexington; brother Anthony Wayne Kennedy and wife Wanda of Lexington; and sister Dale Kennedy Walser and husband Steve of Tyro. Also surviving are grandchildren Merrick Ray Dyson and Riley Paige Dyson, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.  Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Piedmont Triad Chapter, 312 N.
