Betty Jo Brady Sherman, 73, a resident of Old Salisbury Road, Lexington, died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 8, 2008 at Psalm 91 Church with Pastor Max Shoaf officiating. Interment will follow Forest Hill Memorial Park Mrs. Sherman was born in Morristown, TN on February 13, 1934 to the late James Alex Brady and Lillie Mae Woodward Brady. She was a retired employee of Edgewood Apparel. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Oliver Ruben Sherman, and two sons, Oliver David Sherman, and James Ricky Sherman and a sister, Martha Welch, brothers, Robert Lee Brady, J.T. Brady, and Clifford Brady. Surviving are five daughters, Lisa Mae Carlson of Lexington, Frances Ann Joyner of Winston-Salem, Pamela Kay Sherman of Winston-Salem, Marie L. Simpson, and Joann J. Simpson both of the home, a son, Larry Wayne Sherman of the home. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Wendy Hedrick, Chad Sherman, Brandie Slemp, Cody Carlson, and Ciara Carlson and four great grandchildren, Ethan Hedrick, Garrett Hedrick, David Luke Sherman, and Brendon Bishof. Also surviving are a Godchild, Kaitlyn Renee Slemp, special friends, Frankie Ramseyer, Judy Robbins, and Veda Owens, and all brothers and sisters in Christ of Psalm 91 Church. The family would like to thank all who cared for their mother during her life and illness, Cheryl Herman, her Speech Therapist, Tina Bartlett, her Home Health Nurse, Dr. Phillip Marks, and Dr. Cheek of Carolina Cardiology Associates in High Point. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
