Betty Jean Quinn

Betty Jean Everhart Quinn, 82, of East Tenth Avenue Extension died Monday, April 4, 2016 at her home. Services for Mrs. Quinn will be held at a later date; however, the family will receive friends at the home on Wednesday and Thursday from 4 until 8 PM. Betty was born in Davidson County on June 27, 1933 to John Edgar and Maude Hedrick Everhart. She was a retired nurse. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Spivey, Sr.; daughter Linda Spivey Icard; brother Bobby Ray Everhart, Sr.; and sisters Jo Ann Miller and Bernice Eddings. Surviving are daughter Susan Kirkland of Lexington; grandchildren Wendy Swink (James), Joady Hunt( Stuart), Richard Grubb,Sr. (Connie), and Garlena Galyean (James) all of Lexington, Kisha Chilton, and Steven Icard, Jr. of Hickory; 14 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great grandchildren; and sister Martha Brown of Charlotte. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Davidson County for their care of Betty.
