Betty Lee Hinson Thompson

Betty Lee Hinson Thompson, 84, a resident of Edna Street, died Friday, July 18, 2008 in Select Specialty Hospital in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be Sunday at 3:00 PM from the graveside in Lexington City Cemetery with the Rev. Henry Thompson officiating. Betty was born in York County, SC on January 20, 1924 to the late William Edward Hinson and Sarah Waters Hinson. She was a retired employee of Mid State Tile and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death was her husband, William Matthew Thompson, and two sisters, Joyce Lefler, and Thelma Hinson. Betty is survived by a daughter, Sandra Shillinglaw and her husband, Keith of Lexington, a son, Barry Thompson and his wife, Phyllis of Lexington, brothers, William Hinson, Jr., and his wife Pat of Florida, and Kenneth Hinson and his wife, Janice of Fremont, CA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Shannon Thompson, and Randy Shillinglaw, and great grandchildren, Randall Shillinglaw and Rebecca Thompson. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home.
