Betty Frank Beck McBride, 91, passed away peacefully at Brookstone Retirement Center on 2/20/2025. She was born on December 6, 1933, to Stephenson Frank Beck and Girleta Everhart Beck. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill McBride, her parents, a brother Charles (Bubba) Beck, and a sister Carolyn Brock.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held in the Beck Family Cemetery by Rev. Terry Smith on Wednesday 2/26/2025 at 12:00PM. The family will greet friends after the service.
Surviving are her daughters Karen Williams (Billy) and Jan Shepherd (Luke). Granddaughters; Stacy, Leslie (Bryan), Lorie (Griffin), and five cherished great grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters; Nancy Hege, Patricia Leonard, and Barbara Bostian.
Betty was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church where she served on various committees. She was a retired payroll clerk from Byrd Motor Lines. She volunteered for many years with Special Olympics of Davidson County supporting her granddaughter, Stacy. During her time with Special Olympics, she along with her husband Bill, received the Jack DeHart Memorial Award. She was best known for her amazing cooking skills. Preparing a homemade meal from scratch for her family every Sunday after church was one of her greatest joys in life. Her most enjoyable pleasure in life though was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
