Betty Smith Berrier

Betty Smith Berrier, 75, of Haden Grove Church Road, died Tuesday at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Christian Baptist Church with the Revs. Harold Smith and Sam Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Betty was born in Rowan County on May 21, 1939 to Wesley Smith and Ivey Jane Grubb Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wade Berrier, son, Edward Wade Berrier,Jr., son- in- law, Junior Bass, and grandson Gray Allen Bass, Jr. She was retired from the spinning department of Rowan Mills and a member of Christian Baptist Church. Surviving are, son, Jamie Berrier (Tonya) of Linwood; daughters, Jane George (Randy) of Southmont, Rebecca Kepley (Lloyd), Betty Jean Bass, Shelia Bowman ( Michael) and Kerry Bass all of Linwood; brothers Rev. Harold Smith (Rachel) and Jimmy Smith (Shirley) all of Salisbury; sister Sally Peeler (Sonny) of Granite Quarry; nine grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.
