Becky Harris Davis, 82, of Davidson County, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. Edward Kelaher officiating.
Becky was born on March 6, 1945, in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Joseph E Harris and Lottie Bohelier Harris. Upon graduation from Thomasville High School, she went on to complete formal schooling at Gardner Webb College, and Cabarrus School of Nursing.
Becky lived a life devoted to service, compassion, and faith. She poured her heart into her career as a nurse, caring for patients with dedication while also giving the same love and care to her family as a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her faith was a guiding light, and she joyfully served her church through her work on the Vestry and by lifting her voice in the choir. A gifted musician, she found joy in playing the baby grand piano lovingly gifted to her by her mother-in-law. She also had a love for sports, with some of her happiest memories being on the basketball court during her high school years. Becky was a visionary in her field, founding the psychiatric ward at Thomasville Hospital and extending her healing touch in both Thomasville and Rowan Hospitals, where she helped countless individuals with their mental health. Her life was one of strength, grace, and a legacy of care that will not be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 53 years, John Davis, of the home; son, Jason Davis (Heather), of Raleigh; sister, Pat Lopp (Ken), of Thomasville; and grandchildren, Brooke, Jordan, and Noah Davis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
