Barney Douglas "Doug" Blackburn

Barney Douglas “Doug” Blackburn, 87, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at his home on May 13, 2025.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at Forest Hill Memorial Park, 1307 W Old Hwy 64, Lexington, NC 27295 with the Rev. Sammy Allison officiating.

Doug was born on April 2, 1938, in Wilkes County, North Carolina to Barney and Elizabeth “Cora” Blackburn.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Odell Blackburn.  He was a retired Maintenance Supervisor at Dixie Furniture in Lexington, North Carolina.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 67 years who he adored, Carolyn Jackson Blackburn, a son, Dale Blackburn and wife Cheryl of Lexington, South Carolina.  Also surviving are his favorite granddaughter Chrystal Reed and husband James, as well as his great-grandchildren Madison and Kennedy Reed all of whom Doug also adored.
