Barbara Allen Workman, 87, of Lexington, North Carolina passed away peacefully on March 31, 2025, at her home.
Barbara was born on September 11, 1937, in Kernersville, NC to the late Rufus and Zylpha Whicker Ingram. She was a faithful member at First Baptist Church of Welcome and enjoyed attending church and Sunday School. Barbara retired from collections at Lexington Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed reading and gardening, flowers, bird watching, and her place of solitude, the beach.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Luther Almer Workman, Jr. who passed in 1991; a great granddaughter, Emily Workman; son-in-law Richard Teeter; brothers, RB Ingram, Jr., Conrad Ingram and Roy Ingram; and sister Sarah Jane McDermott.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Teeter of Lexington and Gwendlyn Guerra (Tony) of Ft. Myers, Florida; sons, Jimmy Workman (Susan) of Midway and Phillip Workman (Kim) of Lexington. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren, Amy Everhart, Beth Davis, Charity Calandrino (Tim), Travis Workman (Laura), Mandy Hedrick (Bobby), Wrenn Workman (Natasha) and great-grandchildren Sara Everhart, Savannah Davis, Madelyn Davis, Jack Calandrino, Ann Workman, Meredith Hedrick, Landon Hedrick and great-great grandson, Colton.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the Floral Garden Cemetery in High Point, NC with the Rev. Paul Batson officiating, Larry Sides providing music and Carolyn McCarn providing the eulogy.
