Austin Gordon

Austin Harold Gordon, 83, a resident of South NC Hwy 150, Lexington, died June 19, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after an extended illness. A funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday June 23, 2009 in the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clarence Ballew officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Gordon was born January 5, 1926 in Guilford County to the late Edward F. Gordon and Lizabelle Sowers Gordon. He was retired owner and operator of Gordon Carving Company, member of the Baptist faith and served in the US Navy during WWII. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Leola Clodfelter Gordon; One brother, Everette Gordon; three sister Bertha, Emma Albright and Margie He is survived by his wife, Katherine Sutton Gordon of the home The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home.
