Aurie Sanford Myers, Jr.

Aurie Sanford Myers, Jr., 83, a resident of Centerclair Nursing Center, Lexington, formerly of West Fifth Avenue, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 12:30 AM in Centerclair. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 27, 1924, to the late Aurie Sanford Myers, and Gertrude Wacker Myers. Mr. Myers received his Electrical Engineering Degree, and Masters in Physics, from NC State University, and was a retired Engineer with IBM. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of WW II, serving with the US Army Signal Corps, in the Pacific Theater. Surviving is his brother, Charles Myers of Lexington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home.
