Arlene Walser Curry, 84, beloved mother and grandmother, of N. Hwy 150, died on May 31, 2008. The funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Maple Grove Church of the Brethren by the Pastor Mark Craddock. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Curry was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Davidson County, to Cletus and Daisy Crotts Walser. She was a former employee of Burlington Industries. She was preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Curry and her husband, Clifford Curry. Surviving are her son, Wayne Curry and wife, Gail, of Greensboro; daughter, Sharon Everhart and husband, Steve, of Lexington; daughter, Pam McCoin and husband, Roger, of Greensboro; five grandchildren, Laura Curry and Aaron McCoin of Greensboro, Mark and Chad Everhart, of Lexington, and Dr. Melissa Curry, of New Port Richey, FL; five great-grandchildren, Austin Everhart, Jacob McCoin, Cameron and Megan Curry Ireland, and Aiden Curry Reid; two brothers, John Walser and his wife Dee, of Jessup, MD, and Kenneth Walser, of Ft. Washington, MD; two sisters, Virginia Holder of Thomasville and Betty Locke of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by her honorary grandchildren, Karen Beck, and Brad and Eric Grimes. The family thanks Dr. Victor Farrah, the staff of Lexington Memorial Hospital and Hospice Home of High Point, for the love and care given to Mrs. Curry during her bout with cancer. Mrs. Curry was a true extrovert, a gifted storyteller and entertained her family and friends frequently with stories filled with love and laughter. She will forever be remembered for her open mindedness, loyalty and inspiring others to do the right thing. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Piedmont Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at Mrs. Curry's home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Dr., High Point, N.C. 27262
