Mrs. Annie Lee Spradling Miller, 85, of W. Seventh Avenue, died Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 29 from the Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with Sister Emma Milam officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Miller was born October 28, 1923 in Granger County, TN to George D. and Eula Mae Crosby Spradling. She was a member of Meadowview Deliverance Tabernacle and a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She retired from Smokey Joe’s in 1990. Her husband, Charles C. Miller, Sr. and a daughter, Carolyn Jean Miller, preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Lilly of LaPorte, IN, Vina Kearns of Lexington, Mary Knapton of Welcome, Linda Booth, and Millie Baker, both of Lexington; her sons, Charles C. Miller, Jr., Daniel Miller,and Willie Miller, all of Lexington; her brother, Robert C. Spradling of Morrisville, TN; her half brothers, Albert Spradling of Florida, Howard Whaley of Greenville, TN, and John Whaley of Mosheim, TN; her half sisters, Mary Cowgill and Betty Colston, both of LaPorte IN, and Kathleen Hensley of Greenville, TN; 11 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times at the home of a daughter, 440 Elwin Circle, Lexington.
