Annie Mae Leonard Michael, 95, a resident of Arvil Hunt Road, died Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 10:00 AM in Alston Brook. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home with the Rev. Carroll C. Lupton, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Michael was born in Davidson County, NC on August 12, 1912 to the late Luther Cleveland and Martha Elizabeth Yarbrough Leonard. She was a retired employee of Siceloff Shirt Company and she was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Mrs. Michael attended Friendship United Methodists Church. She enjoyed Sewing, Quilting and making Clown Dolls, and had won a number of Blue Ribbons at the Davidson County Fair, for her Quilts and Dolls. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Charlie Lavon Michael, 2 sons, Lonnie Thomas Michael, and Charlie Leonard Michael, two daughters, Joan Spry, and Annie Lou Michael. Also preceding her in death was a grandson, Kenny Spry, six brothers, Marvin Leonard, Odell Leonard, Luther “Sam” Leonard, Roy Leonard, John Leonard, and Alfred Leonard, a sister, Ruth Leonard Giles. She is survived by a son, Larry Dean Michael and his wife, Alice of Lexington, two sisters, Gertrude York and Pauline York both of Lexington, eight grandchildren, Larry Michael, Jr., Lee Michael, Teresa Haines, Julie Smith, Laura Little, Charles Michael, Lonnie Michael, Jr., and Vickie Grubb. Also surviving are fourteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, two daughters in-law, Deanna Michael-Beck and Fay Michael both of Lexington.
