Amy Heath Lark

Amy Heath Shoemaker Lark, 62, of Lexington died Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 27, 2018 at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Eric Disher officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Amy was born in Forsyth County on June 19, 1956 to the late Paul Raymond “Shu” and Sally Griffin Shoemaker. She graduated from West Florence Senior High School and Forsyth Technical Community College. A member of Lexington Community Church, she was a former horticulturist with Old Salem, and a Master Gardener with the Davidson County Master Gardener's Association. She had a kind, gentle “hippie” spirit, with a passion for plants and nature. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Tillman Shoemaker.  Surviving are brothers Steven Paul Shoemaker (Debbie) of Columbia, SC, and Cameron Brooks “Cam” Shoemaker (special friend Sarah June Bryant) of Lexington; nieces Cassidy Bleu Garwood and Chelsea Derrick; nephew Sam Shoemaker; special friends Sylvia Lynn Garwood and Robert Lark; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  The family would like to give special thanks to her cousin Judy Yarbrough, Hospice of Davidson County, and other special friends for their love and concern for Amy over the past year.
