Alta Mae Martin

Alta Mae Hester Martin, 90, of Wall Street, died Saturday June 17, 2017 at Rowan Regional Hospital in Salisbury. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday June 21, 2017 at Lexington City Cemetery, with pastor J.C. Miles officiating. Burial to follow in the cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born in Davidson County on October 9, 1926 to the late George Hester and Daisy Barlow Hester. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond C. Martin, and son Sammy Martin. She retired from Wake Forest Baptist Health Lexington Medical Center as a supervisor over housekeeping. Surviving are grandson, Steven Martin of Mt. Airy, half grandson, Jerry Cauldle of Mt. Airy, niece, Elizabeth Hester of Lexington, good friend, Nancy Johnson and caregivers, Becky Holt and Phyllis Boone.
