Alex Martin

Alex Martin, 38, a resident of Burkhart Road, died Tuesday, May 26, 2009 in Forsyth Medical Center. A memorial service will be Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Piedmont Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Armfield, Jr., officiating. Alex was born in Pima County, Arizona on May 21, 1971 to Ralph C. Martinez and Denise Lehman Martinez. He was an Intensive Surveillance Officer with the NC State Probation/Parole Office in Davidson County and was part-time Security Guard with Lexington Memorial Hospital. Preceding him in death was his father, his stepfather, Daniel D. Marrs, and his maternal grandfather, George Lehman. Surviving are his wife, Kari Tate Martin of Lexington, two sons, Daniel Martin and Stewart Martin both of Lexington, his step daughter, Emily Stacy of Lexington, his mother, Denise Lehman Marrs of Winston-Salem, and his maternal grandmother, Sara Lehman Smith of Tucson, Arizona. Also surviving are his uncle, Mark Lehman of Missoula, MT, his aunts, Cathy Lehman, Dianne Lehman and Marlene Martinez all of Tucson, AZ, his cousins, Elise Zimmerman, Rene Nunez and Marc Zimmerman all of Tucson, AZ. The family will see friends following the service at Piedmont Funeral Home and other times will be at the home of Donnie and Jeanine Tate, 299 Bethany Road, Lexington. Memorials in Alex’s memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 5950 Fairview Road, Suite 250, Charlotte NC 28210. The family would like to say a special thank you for Alex’s care to; Dr. Nick Chrysson, the ninth floor nursing staff and the ICU staff at Forsyth Medical Center.
