Aime Joseph “Butch” Bouchard, 99, of Lexington died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House after declining health of one month. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday , February 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM at First Reformed United Church of Christ by the Revs. Robin Keating and Banks Shepherd. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:30 PM in the church fellowship hall. Interment will follow in Lexington City Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Davidson County Honor Guard. Butch was born April 5, 1914 in Montreal, Canada to the late Ulderic Joseph and Marie Ann Veillette Bouchard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lee Beck Bouchard in 2003, and two brothers, Emilien and Roland Bouchard. A member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, he retired as an assistant manager of Eckerd Drug. He was inducted into the US Army on September 29,1942, where he served in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was discharged from active duty on January 4,1946. He was also a member of VFW Post 3074 and American Legion Post 8, a member of his church choir for many years. and delivered Meals on Wheels up until the age of 98. Surviving are sons Lee Bouchard and wife Ellen of Trinity, and Phil Bouchard and wife Alma of Leland; daughter Amy Hedrick and husband Tony of Lexington; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Anita Barbera of Connecticut.
