Adilean Davis Hester

Adilean Pallie Davis Hester, 90, of Virginia Drive, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in the Palliative Care Unit at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 7:00 PM at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor J.C. Miles. Mrs. Hester was born in Lexington, NC January 4, 1924 to Patrick M. “Peter” and Mattie Leonard Davis. She spent most of her life working at Erlanger Mills, then retired from Dakota Cotton Mill. She was a loving mother, grandmother,great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. A lover of family, card games and known for her quick wit, “granny” will greatly be missed by all. She was preceded in death by sons Ronald, Wayne, Jimmy C., and Kenneth Hester; brothers Lester, Colon , Oscar, and Clyde Davis; and sisters, Ruby Mariage, Vada Prevette, Elsie Nance, and Pauline Hall. Surviving are son Jerry Hester and wife Jennifer of Lexington; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the home on Virginia Drive.
