Adelbert William Beard

Adelbert William Beard 90, a resident of South NC Highway 150, Linwood, died December 3, 2007, at Alston Brook of Lexington. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 7, 2007 at 2 PM from the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home Chapel in Watkins Glen, New York. Interment will follow in at Union Cemetery of Hecter in Burdett, NY. Mr. Beard was born in Tioga County, PA on January 14, 1917 to the late William Edson Beard and Bessie Erway Beard. He was retired from Bendix Machine Shop in Elmira Heights, NY and was a Grape Farmer. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his wife, Alma Erway Beard, a daughter, Mary Ruth Hillerman, 3 sisters, Gladys Rinehart, Marie Lewis and Hazel Mason and one brother Elmer Beard. He is survived by a son, William G. Beard and wife Susanne M. Beard of Linwood, son in-law, Robert Hillerman of Nassau, NY; three sisters, Alberta Wallace of Bath, NY, Alice Chase and Marion Beard of Corning NY. Also surviving are six Grandchildren and twelve Great-Grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service at Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home in Watkins Glen, NY
